About Insight Percussion Theater Insight Percussion Theater is an organization dedicated to youth education in the arts. We offer young men and women between the ages of 14 and 22 both performance and educational opportunities in the percussive arts. We hope to instill in our members a strong sense of personal achievement, growth, confidence, strong work ethic, responsibility, perseverance and dedication; in order to achieve a team goal. Our members will learn the craft of indoor percussion performance, develop the skills necessary to perform at a supremely high level, and learn and perfect a show to be performed on several occasions in front of thousands of spectators. Insight Percussion Theater was founded in the winter of 2008 by Jeremy Webb and Beecha Filer, the two of them are currently building Insight from the ground up. Insight is staffed by a dedicated group of music educators and designers who volunteer their time for the benefit of the ensemble's members and their growth within our activity. It is to this end that the ensemble has been created to provide an environment for the members to grow both musically and socially within the ensemble, learning countless skills that will be useful in every aspect of life. Insight Percussion Theater ia a nationally competitive ensemble. They participate in both Louisiana Color Guard and Percussion Circuit (LCGPC) and Winter Guard International (WGI) Sport of the Arts sanctioned events. These events combine music, movement, and props into a theatrical production performed in a gymnasium. From Febuary to April the ensemble competes locally, regionally, and nationally against other indoor percussion ensembles. Our Mission Insight Percussion exists to foster positive experiences for all who participate, by promoting education, creativity and freedom of expression through the unification of pageantry and the performing arts. Through this ensemble we will promote and instill teamwork, commitment to excellence, and professionalism in its' members. By crossing gender, racial, social and generational lines, we will create unique family experiences for our members. Through participation in performing arts ensembles, young people develop pride, character and self confidence while becoming instilled with a desire to succeed at every level of life.
